Ta Chi Nhu is known as the 7th highest mountain among Vietnam’s top 10 peaks, with an elevation of 2,979m. It lies in the Pu Luong massif of the Hoang Lien Son range, within Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province.

The origin and meaning of Chi Pau flowers – the “don’t know, don’t remember” flower
Chi Pau is actually a name used by the Hmong people living here. It means “don’t know” or “don’t understand,” as even they did not know what the flower was called, when it first appeared, or why such beautiful hills of flowers could bloom so high in the mountains. Later, people found that Chi Pau flowers are actually Swertia, also known as co Mat Rong or Dai Tu Duong Duoc, a type of herbal plant with large seeds.
When Chi Pau blooms, it forms clusters of tiny flowers. The blossoms are small and resemble lavender. But Chi Pau’s purple is not as deep as lavender; it carries a touch of pale white, giving it a gentle charm.
