This “roof of Y Tý” has a rugged, majestic beauty, with a sharply pointed summit and many steep rock slabs. That is why it has become one of the most adventurous trekking routes in Northern Vietnam.
Conquering Lảo Thẩn Peak, you will pass through forests burned for farming, with their distinctive smoky smell, and cross dry, scorched tree trunks under harsh sunlight. The section to Lảo Thẩn summit takes only about one hour, but the terrain is steeper and more difficult. The higher you climb, however, the more amazed you become by the scenery: clusters of rhododendron appearing through mist, pure white hawthorn blossoms, and the bright yellow of chí cò flowers. All this beauty is worth the time and effort you spend to witness it.
