Why is Annapurna Base Camp so loved by trekkers?
Everest is surely the name that comes to mind for many mountain lovers when talking about the Himalayas. But did you know there is also a stunning Annapurna within this majestic range? Ranked among the world’s mountains worth conquering, Annapurna is known as one of the wettest and windiest regions in Nepal. That is exactly why it keeps drawing adventurous travelers to come and take on the challenge. Although the route to Annapurna is difficult and demanding, it rewards you with views from heights of over 8,000 m, where the world opens up before your eyes. Trekkers also get to admire the wild, grand scenery all around, pass through mountain villages of the Gurung people, and explore the traditional culture and lifestyle of highland communities.

Annapurna is at its most beautiful in April and May, when peach blossoms bloom beautifully along your route. If you depart during this period, you will not have to deal with bitter cold.
If you want to admire a romantic autumn scene with golden leaves, visit around October to November. However, you should be able to handle cold conditions, as nighttime temperatures can drop very low.
One small note: try to avoid trekking this route in January to February and July to September.
What to prepare before setting off for Annapurna
As experienced trekkers know, hiking shoes, a trekking backpack, trekking poles, and medicine are essential. Make sure you also bring enough clothing for the trip. For Annapurna’s dust, sun, and wind, pack sunscreen, a face mask, hydrating facial mist, and lip balm.
According to mountaineering experts, this trek is rated at a moderate difficulty level. Even so, you need good health, endurance, and persistence so you will not give up easily. Train in advance so your journey can be as complete as possible.
