Spring: the brilliant flower season of Ta Lien Son
Spring can be counted from after January, when Ta Lien Son is colored by a variety of flowers. The most special highlight, and a seasonal attraction for trekkers from near and far, is perhaps rhododendron season, when the queen flower of the northern mountains covers the hillsides.
Rhododendrons usually bloom from around February to April. The flowers open in clusters, spreading shades of purple and pink across the mountainsides, especially near the summit area. Pear blossoms and wild apple flowers add another poetic, romantic touch.
From March to May, while the purple of the rhododendrons still remains, camellia buds begin to show their pure white color. The camellia petals are small and delicate, carrying a soft, gentle fragrance.
At the end of rhododendron season, the flowers slowly fall. Some sections of the trail look as if a pink carpet has been laid across the ground. You can lie beneath the forest canopy and listen to the calming sounds of the mountains.
Summer: lush and green
As spring gives way to summer, Ta Lien Son welcomes the deep green vegetation of evergreen forests and moss-covered rocks. The romance of flowers fades, replaced by an endless, vigorous green world.

From late September to early October, maple trees halfway up the mountain begin to change leaf color. The whole forest shifts from green to a brilliant, captivating red. Maple leaves decorate the sky, and looking up from below feels like standing inside a natural painting.
Wearing a new coat of color, the mountain at this time feels like an enchanting fairytale, becoming more luminous the deeper you walk. When you reach the summit, you stand amid an overwhelming mountain-and-forest landscape where peaks and flowers blend softly, holding trekkers back a little longer.
